NetBenefit’s Bare Metal Restore service safeguards your online business or application against major operating system corruption by ensuring you have a copy of all server and application configuration settings in the event of operating system corruption. 

In the event of failure, one of our technical team will use the Bare Metal Restore snapshot to recreate your server environment on new hardware.  From the moment the Bare Metal Restore service is set up, we will automatically take a regular snapshot of your server which can be restored simply and quickly by our technical support team.  The snapshot is typically taken monthly, though more frequently is available on request, and stored within NetBenefit’s robust Storage Area Network. 

You can then restore the data onto your managed servers when you are ready to do so.

Bare Metal Restore offers significant time savings in the event of a disaster but it also represents a more cost effective option than continuously maintaining a hot standby server.

Using Bare Metal Restore to migrate data

Whilst Bare Metal Restore is traditionally associated with disaster recovery, it can also be used to guarantee business continuity during the course of a server migration. 

For example, if you have a need to migrate all configurations and permission settings from one server to another, our technical team can use Bare Metal Restore to complete this for you. The migration can then take place with zero user downtime as the original server can continue running whilst the migration is taking place.
