- My NetBenefit
Using your MYSQL web space
MySQL is only accessible from the Unix platform using your login details. MySQL is a true multi-user SQL database server. SQL (Structured Query Language) is the most popular and standardised database language in the world.
Features
- Fully multi-threaded using kernel threads.
- Works on many different platforms. For performance NetBenefit will be running mySQL on a separate full tolerance server.
- You can mix tables from different databases in the same query.
- Fixed length and variable length records.
- A privilege and password system ensures flexibility and security.
- Handles large databases. mySQL can contain 50,000,000 records.
- What are the set-up procedures for mySQL?
- In order to set-up a database, simply call NetBenefit. You will be issued with username and passwords and your initial database will be activated and confirmed via email within 24 hours.
For example:
Domain name: www.yourdomain
User name: db****
Password: ********
Hostname: mysql****.vs.netbenefit.co.uk
Once a database is set-up, you can set-up as many databases as you require. If you view the above example, additional databases must start with the name db****. There are no additional set-up fees or charge per additional database within each account. However if another account is required a fee will be charged.
Do I need a licence to operate mySQL?
A licence is required if you charge for installing and maintaining a mySQL server for a client, however if your website solely uses the mySQL service provided by NetBenefit a licence should not be necessary. For more information click here.
