NetBenefit and Xpressbeats.com help DJs to keep dance floors full
Digital download store, Xpressbeats.com, has selected NetBenefit’s Content Delivery Network (CDN) service to speed up distribution of the latest dance tracks to DJs across the globe.
Established in 2005, Xpressbeats.com provides DJs with cutting edge promos, quality dance music and an extensive catalogue of tracks for music lovers. Xpressbeats.com features both major and independent dance labels and has recently signed a deal with EMI to distribute its material, including tracks from DJ/remixer Paul Oakenfold and global superstar Kylie Minogue.
The website experiences high volumes of traffic, particularly on a Friday and Saturday afternoon when DJs are preparing material for the weekend. Rob Sawyer, director at Xpressbeats.com says: “The digital download industry is a fast moving world, where DJs demand the freshest and biggest tracks in the highest quality format. Visitors to our site have the option to download the MP3 files in ipod friendly or CD quality format but either way they expect fast downloads and the very best website experience. We need to be able to meet this demand without fear of the site slowing up or crashing, especially at our busiest times."
By providing CDN services, NetBenefit will help Xpressbeats.com to achieve a high performance, fully scalable website that remains online irrespective of which hit records are available to download. Working alongside partner Panther Express, a global provider of high performance CDN services, NetBenefit will enable Xpressbeats.com to improve its customers' experience and maximise the number of visitors that stay on the site.
The site is managed by web development experts Roxxor. Ben Wynn, director, Roxxor, comments: “Xpressbeats were looking for help to make the site perform faster. The transition to NetBenefit’s service went very smoothly and we immediately noticed an increase in bandwidth performance. CDN services are a natural choice for music download sites and we have been very pleased with the results."
The solution is also being implemented in Xpressbeats.com’s sister websites gaydarradiojukebox.com, download.djmag.com, clickproduce.com and clickgroove.com. Despite appealing to different sectors of the digital download market, each site needs the same level of resilience during its peak times.
Colin Bell, sales and marketing director, NetBenefit comments: "Organisations like Xpressbeats.com truly rely upon the performance of their websites to survive and prosper. For the content provider, a slow website means loss of revenue today and potentially loss of repeat revenue tomorrow. NetBenefit’s CDN service is fast and easy to deploy, allowing companies to benefit from world class CDN services to effectively deliver digital content."
