Intro Text:

NetBenefit has announced it is the first to provide a dedicated hosting platform for Microsoft® Silverlight™ (www.microsoft.com/silverlight), the cross browser, server independent plug-in for delivering rich media content and interactive applications for developers.

As an accredited Microsoft Gold partner, NetBenefit has worked closely with Microsoft® to design a hosting platform specifically for websites or online applications designed using Microsoft® Silverlight™.  Microsoft® Silverlight™ offers a flexible programming model that supports AJAX, VB, C#, IronPython, and IronRuby, and integrates with existing web applications to provide higher quality experiences for reduced media delivery costs. By using Expression Studio and Visual Studio, designers and developers can use existing programming skills to create stunning new websites and online advertising campaigns.

Microsoft® Silverlight™ is truly cross-platform meaning that it is compatible with Windows, Mac and, in due course, Windows Mobile platforms.  Building upon existing support for multimedia formats, including Windows Media, Flash, Real, and QuickTime, NetBenefit’s support for Microsoft® Silverlight™ will provide increased flexibility and reliability to customers delivering streaming media content to users worldwide. Additionally, clients will be able to reduce deployment costs and become more efficient in terms of bandwidth and hardware use.

Jonathan Robinson, chief operating officer at NetBenefit, comments: "NetBenefit works with a wide range of award winning new media agencies and is currently working on a number of products for this space.  Whether you are using Microsoft® Silverlight™ for a client project or your own internal use, our experienced team of professionals can create a tailored hosting platform specifically with your business requirements in mind."
