NetBenefit launches Hyper-V virtual dedicated server
Managed hosting provider, NetBenefit, announces today it is expanding its virtualisation capabilities with the launch of a range of virtual dedicated servers based on Microsoft’s Hyper-V technology and Dell’s high performance servers.
The new virtualisation solution will complement NetBenefit’s existing managed hosting services, providing customers with an entry level virtualisation product with resilience, security and performance.
NetBenefit’s virtual dedicated servers are based upon high quality, multiprocessor servers with a Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) storage system and are ideal for a wide range of hosting environments from small multimedia applications to ecommerce websites and test environments.
The launch of this product follows NetBenefit’s participation in Microsoft’s Hyper-V early adopter programme. During the programme, NetBenefit’s technical team worked closely with both Microsoft and Dell to create the virtual dedicated server offering using Microsoft’s hypervisor technology which was new with Windows 2008. Hyper-V has allowed NetBenefit to maximise its data centre space and reduce server administration.
Jonathan Robinson, COO of NetBenefit, explains: "The creation of NetBenefit’s Hyper-V based virtual dedicated server offers businesses a high quality virtual dedicated server at a competitive price. Customers who may have been obliged to choose a dedicated server on white label hardware now have access to a truly resilient server with high performance. We are very excited about the opportunity to bring Microsoft’s new virtualisation offering to market."
