Microsoft Hyper-V 2008
Hyper-V is the name for Microsoft’s virtualisation technology. Windows hypervisor is a thin layer of software between the hardware and the operating system that allows multiple operating systems to run unmodified on a host server at the same time.
Hyper-V is Microsoft’s hypervisor-based technology and is a key feature of Windows Server 2008 which was first launched in 2008. The subsequent upgrade that was released in 2009 (Microsoft Windows 2008 R2) brought with it many of the features that enterprises look for in a virtualisation solution.
NetBenefit's Ultra-V virtualisation platform is built upon Microsoft's Hyper-V technology together with market leading Dell blade servers, Fortinet firewalls and Nexsan storage. The launch of the platform followed our participation in Microsoft’s Hyper-V early adopter program. During the program, NetBenefit’s team of infrastructure specialists worked closely with both Microsoft and Dell to create its high performance Hyper-V based platform with continuous availability.
By choosing NetBenefit’s virtual private server platform you can be confident that it has been architected to maximise the performance and efficiency offered by Dell and Microsoft’s latest technology.
